Sometime at the end of February in 2020, several friends were talking around a dinner table…
Why does it feel so difficult to socialize with people lately?
Why, in a city full of millions of people, do we feel so socially isolated?
How can we spark genuine conversations and have meaningful connections with others, even if we don’t know each other yet?
How can we overcome the initial awkwardness of talking to a stranger?
How do we even know if they’re open to talking?
What if there was a way to signal to other people who were looking for the same thing?
Thus, the idea of the Green Circle was born.
Every day, more and more of us realize the importance of getting offline.
Still, many of us fear the loss of the “social connection” that social media offers us.
Well, this is our alternative: real-life human connection.
The Green Circle movement takes a well-known social media symbol and reclaims it.
Imagine going into a coffee shop or bookstore... Instead of people sitting alone, staring at their screens, you see strangers laughing, sharing ideas, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
Not only is this reality possible, but it is more necessary than ever.
Help us make the shift, one Green Circle and one conversation at a time.
